Where It Started

The concept behind Vytal was an adhesive ECG monitor for athletes to relay accurate biometrics like heart rate variability that can be translated to things like physiological stress and when an athlete needs to rest.

Spencer and I started Vytal in 2015 during our sophomore year of highschool.  We partnered with a research group from the University of Illinois at Chicago to help spin out the research they were doing with the university. The idea behind it started as a smart band aid that can transmit health metrics back to a smartphone. Through market research and learning the landscape, this idea was refined to concentrate on athletes and sports technology.

The End

We stopped working on Vytal in 2018 because of slow progress and a company offered to licensed some of the core technology to integrate into a different line of wearables.
