The Cyfive Pitch

Cyfive unlocks emotional caregiving via passive sensor technology that gives insight on underlying moment to moment wellbeing. We offer continuous heart rate monitoring for elderly care in a sensor form factor that can be placed simply placed on the skin and forgot about for days. In testing, this form factor has been temporary tattoos that collect cardiac information. This cardiac information is relayed back to the senior and the caregiving facility or unpaid caregiver. It is paper thin with no battery or electrical components. We can do this by utilizing passive technology similar to NFC or RFID to activate and communicate with the sensor. In addition to heart rate, the sensor has been shown to detect blood pressure, blood sugar, intracranial pressure and melanoma. While Cyfive’s technology has deep applications, Heart Rate (as the most fundamental vital sign) is the simplest to launch quickly and leap frogs alternatives that are ill suited for seniors.

It Started When

While with the MID program, Spencer and I helped start a number of projects and companies and is where we met Ryan Becker. Ryan has great knowledge and vision, and I instantly knew that whatever he was working on, I wanted to be a part of. He showed us his research on passive technology. Seeing this technology’s potential to help people and make a difference, the three of us started brainstorming the various ways this can be brought to the masses. This is what led to Cyfive. Cyfive as started in January 2018.

Working with Red Bull

In the summer of 2018 we were one of three companies in the nation to be accepted into the Red Bull Launch Institute. As part of this partnership, we were able to fly out to NYC and meet with the Red Bull team and got to train with Fahrenheit 212, one of the top innovation consultancy firms in the world. In addition to this we got to pitch train with TechCrunch. This was all in preparation for TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.

A few weeks after NYC, we fly out to San Francisco to exhibit and present at TechCrunch Disrupt. Here we met some amazing people and made some great contacts.
